About this species
Adults: Barramundi are an iconic Australian estuarine and freshwater species. Their colour is silver to bronze, with dark brown/black fins and pink eyes. Their mouths are large and slightly oblique, and their upper jaws extend back past the eyes. Juveniles: Mottled green or brown in colour with white blotches on their backs.
