This sighting has been reviewed and verfied. Found washed up on the tide line and was alive at time of collection. The specimen was preserved, and then dissected at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery by curator Dr Simon Grove to confirm ID - with further confirmation from cephalopod expert Mandy Reid at the Australian Museum who saw the photos of the dissected eye and the diagnostic photophore arrangement.
