A sustained marine heatwave and a stronger Leeuwin Current have driven warm water south along the WA coast, shifting marine species beyond their usual ranges. The Redmap project, supported by citizen scientists and partners like DPIRD and IMAS, plays a key role in tracking these changes, with ten years of data confirming southern movements of both commercial and non-commercial marine species.
