Avid divers and regular Redmap contributors, Glen Whisson and Alexandra Hoschke, have co-authored ‘The Rottnest Island Fish Book’. Glen and Alex have collectively contributed 50 sightings to Redmap over the past two years, one of the most notable being the blue angelfish at Salmon Bay in February 2016, the first ever recording of the species around Rottnest Island, and well south than its usual home range (north of Geraldton). When Alex and Glen re-visited Salmon Bay this month, they were astonished to find the very same fish in the same shallow cave, only now sporting more of the adult colouration seen in this species (see latest sighting HERE).

The Rottnest Island Fish Book contains over 420 colour photos and descriptions of more than 250 marine species, including of course, the blue angelfish. The book is a great reference guide for snorkellers, divers and fishers visiting the ever popular island. It also has handy tips on fishing, snorkelling maps, and a valuable identification section describing the key features for many of the fish species found around Rottnest Island.
