This sighting has been reviewed and verified. Rarely sighted in Tas waters south of Bass Strait. However, one specimen was recorded by CSIRO from SW Tas in 1966 so it has historically been in this region. The increased frequency of sighting of this species may relate to increased abundance at the southern end of its range in recent years.
