About this species

Easily identifiable by the huge pectoral fins which are rounded when outspread. When retracted they sit alongside the body and extend to the tail. Body is elongated and box-like in shape. A dorsal spine extends from the brow ridge. Both adults and juveniles are creamy-white in colour. Juveniles have large brown spots, whereas in adults the spots have partially merged to form dark areas and banding. Read more…
