South Australia,
Whyalla, 10th Nov 2023. Pinctada sp., not fully grown. Valve sculpturing / spines differ from the typical introduced P. albina that occur in this area. It has been suggested that this may be another species in the genus (if so, first record for SA) or an unusual form of sculpturing on sub-adult P. albina.
