A great flow of tropical water pushes southwards along the edge of Western Australia's continental shelf, sending giant swirling eddies into coastal waters and out to sea. This is the Leeuwin Current - the longest boundary current in the world, and an enormous influence on the life cycle and distribution of many marine species in Western Australia.
