Yellowtail kingfish
Seriola lalandi
A good catch from northern New South Wales across southern mainland Australia to Western Australia including South Australia. Often caught in Northern Tasmania the kingfish is anecdotally considered to be getting more common in southern Tasmania in recent years.
Yellowtail kingfish are streamlined, schooling fish which grow to a large size. Dark blue-green with a yellow stripe along the length of their bodies.
