Migratory species with worldwide distribution, usually associated with warmer waters. Light underside with a pattern of about 15 narrow, oblique dark wavy lines above the lateral line.

Length: Up to 60 cm

Habitat

Oceanic in all tropical and sub-tropical waters; 50-200 m depth

Log it

It's distribution might show it as widespread....but we need more information on the frigate mackerel - so please log if spotted in Tasmanian waters!
