Mostly silver, darker grey above, fins are grey except for whitish anal fin. Juveniles are slightly mottled or streaked on sides with dark spot high on operculum.

Length: Up to 60 cm

Habitat

Estuarine and brackish coastal rivers and lakes; 0-10 m depth
