Redmappers' contribution to citizen science this Summer

Curtis Champion, 27 Feb 2018.

A total of 68 out-of-range observations have been logged by the Redmap community and verified by our team of experts this Summer! Our top three states were NSW (34 observations), Tasmania (23 observations) and Western Australia (11 observations). Great work Redmappers!

  • The greatest number of unusual sightings were made in NSW, followed by Tasmania and Western Australia.

These observations are a great contribution to our continued collection of citizen science data. We now have well over 2500 unusual observations from around Australia logged in our database! This is a great result and demonstrates how fishers, divers and beachcombers can work together to understand the changes that are occurring within our precious marine environment.
