Swanfish is back in 2014 on the waters of Perth's Swan and Canning over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of February. What is expected to be plenty of fun for the whole family is also an excellent opportunity to help log any unusual marine species.

In the last 12 months, Redmap has received some logged reports from the Swan River including a 1.4kg mud crab and a diamond trevally both several hundred kilometres further south than usual. We also have on good authority grass emperor have also been caught recently - so be on the lookout!

To be part of the action, Swanfish are taking online registrations through their website or you can sign up on the day at MacCallum Park, Victoria Park during Saturday morning. To be in the running for the ''Most Unusual" catch category all you need to do is take a photo of your catch, log it on Redmap and include your Swanfish registration number in the additional comments section and you are in the running.
